I didn’t serve with the SBS but I was Mountain Arctic Wafare Cadre in the Marines and we replicated much of the froggo’s training.

Back in my day (1978-82 and 1987-90) the martial arts training was pretty restricted to Army Combative Training however we were encouraged to work with what ever was available. I studied JKD and did quite a bit of Muay Thai. On secondments, we worked with the SEAL and Ranger teams in Germany and picked up quite a lot from their training. They were pretty into something called Hwarang Do.

At one point the Marines used to work quite a bit with Hap-Ki-Do but this wasn’t something that the special units took on board (SBS, MAWC Commachio).

Every now and again, some of us would go and train with some bright spark and occasionally someone would want to come and do a seminar for us but nothing too regular back then. Can’t imagine it is much different now.
